Servus Kingdom




This version is now outdated - we're onto Ver1.0


As promised, here we are. The game now goes by the name 'Servus Kingdom'. Before you ask, Servus is latin for slave; so it translates into 'Slave Kingdom', aren't I clever kitty?

So what's in it? If you've been keeping up with my blog, you'll have an idea. For those of you who don't, here's a handy dandy list.

1) I've expanded the cooking function in the game. Rather than just cooking and getting a fixed stat, there is now a chance that your slave will fail the task. This will offer you the chance to punish or try to comfort them, which ties nearly into -

2) The emotion system in fully in place now. Emotions will decide what stats are improved. For example, aggression is a bad to thing to have, because it will make your slave use up more energy to perform tasks. It will make certain tasks impossible to do - I mean, do you want a blowjob from an angry girl who will probably bite it off? Fear, on the other hand, will yield greater growth, but only in one stat. Overall stress is also a factor, as it will impact on how refreshed your slave is at the start of each day. A stressed out slave is not only going to have negative states, but you won't be able to perform many tasks - including getting them to work! And you need that sweet, sweet money - speaking of which.   

3) You can gamble your money. At the moment there is only one game - a basic dice game, but I'm hoping to have things like rock/paper/scissors and maybe some slot machines. Originally I did have a something in place to try to stop people save scumming, but that didn't work so...

4) I've added a brand new map for the central city and a port map. The city has brand new locations in it - such as the dungeon, where mistress Katalin waits for you. Katalin can help you break slaves and can even sell you unique items. There are also some new maps which have been designed though yet to actually be fully added.

5) A new job has been added for your slave. They can now work at the restaurant. Your character can also do jobs. There are currently two in the game. One is breaking slaves for the Guild or the Dungeon. If you're a female, you can prostitute yourself.

6) Various clear up from the last game have been done and generally tweaking of mechanics.

7) Day and Night. There is now a day and night cycle in the game. Depending on the time, different events will be open for you. Certain characters will also be in different locations depending on the day of the week and if its night. In the future, this will lead to unique quests and the like.

8) Nami's true ending. This will be difficult to get, but if you can follow the thread correctly, you can help return Nami to her world. Oh, what does that imply? 

9) Love and marriage. You can make your slave fall in love with you and marry them.

10) Added some lore and expanded dialogue.

11) Made the conversation/Kiss command have some more active qualities.

12) Depending on your slave's mood there are some secret events that can happen.

13) You can play as a female character!  As hinted to above and in screen shots, you can now pick a female character. At the moment the change in gameplay isn't too radical, but it's early days yet.

14) Player tiredness and stress. Much like with your own slave, you'll have to watch your own stats, ensuring you're getting the most out of your training.

15) Deepthroat task has been added.

16) New custom art has been added for Blowjob, Blowjob Alarm, Deepthroat, Fuck and for the female character's prostitution. I've also tweaked some of Nami's sprites for different clothes.



However, given my current schedule, I've not been able to implement all of the functions I wanted, despite having designed them. So, what's been removed for the next update?

1) The single player missions. This is something I've been hinting towards since the demo, but due to current time I've not been able to actually implement it. I've designed two one of the maps and even got a few quest items up.

2) Concoct new and unique potions. So remember the witch character I introduced in the demo? Well, her role is chiefly that of crafting. A later points in the game you'll be able to enter different areas and collect consumables which can be used to craft said potions.

3) Weapon forging.

4) Overall story. I've been writing down ideas and creating characters and the like, but right now I'm focused on delivering engaging and interesting gameplay. So this taking a back seat.

5) Lose battle pictures. So if you're playing as a female character and you lose a battle, guess what happens? I've got a few sketches down, but nothing too major. However, I have added one of these sketches to the game, it needs to be refined and coloured. I also need to add Nami Handjob and Anal. Again, sketches are done I just need to refine them.

6) Sex sound effects. I'm still looking for a good source to use. Honestly, I tend to have the sound effects off because I find them annoying, but I know some people really like them.

I have a week off!!!

Yay! I finally have a week off! 

As it happens I was able to get a huge amount of playtesting done last week, so the game works mechanically. I've ended up having to change a few bits and pieces (but isn't that the point of playtesting?). Now I'm working on the art. If time permits me, I might even be able to refine some more mechanics! 

Anyway, I'm writing this entry for 3 reasons. The first is above. The second is to say I'm going be releasing SSM_0.5 on the 29th - hopefully, I'll have all art in it - but let's see how that goes. My third reason for this entry is to let you know I'm going to be creating a Patreon account.

It's something I've been umming and ahhing for a while now, but I've decided to go full force with it. I'm not going to give too many details now, but I just wished to give you guys a heads up. Mostly I'm considering what would be good rewards for supporters.

Streaming?

Hi everyone,

this is just an idea I was floating in my head, but how you guys feel about me streaming? It would either be me doing artwork, working on the game, or playing games - mostly for research purposes. You could interact with me and ask questions.

Work, Work, and more Work.

I hate reality. And on that positive note, let's get down to the fact. I've not had a chance to do anything on the game since all my days so far have been: eat, sleep, work - repeat. 

This current schedule doesn't look like it's going to be changing - however, near the end of October I should be having a week off. 

That'll be when I'll get the playtesting done, the art as well, hopefully, and then I'll release the new update. Sorry about this - but, you know, I sort of need to live.

Hell, I haven't even had a chance to play Paper Mario Colour Splash ¬_¬

Delay in my Cunning Plan

Okay, so, three, two, one - how many of you saw this coming? I was hoping to have SSM03 up today for your downloading pleasure. Sadly, real life got in the way and as a result, I was unable to play test the recent build. 

I noticed some serious slow down on my laptop (which is about a decade old - no joke!) and I then spent some time changing the city map, whilst crossing my fingers and praying I wouldn't have to split the city up into sections.

It seems to be working now, sadly this is going to limit the number of events I can have - which sucks. Looks like I'll have to test and see what is the breaking point and then design around. 

I have to work again today - so I'm going to try and use tomorrow as a means to test the game and then I'm probably added the H-scenes (for your slave and the female character) as sketches. 

So I'll like to now direct you to this video message I've recorded for you all.
